This is cinema at its best

(2024). I found "Vermiglio" a very beautiful, unusual and yet extremely relevant film. The acting is excellent and the narrative is very well-structured, very emotional and superbly directed.

I found the language extremely beautiful and the photography simply wonderful

It is one of the best films I have seen in years. The family story is very believable and the references to the social reality of Trentino during and after the Great War seem true and worth seeing as an attempt at social analysis. The respect with which the religious dimension is treated deserves the highest praise.

The music is excellent and the sound of «Miserere» in a moment of deep sadness in the family was touching for me

In other words, in addition to being poetic and truly beautiful, «Vermiglio» takes us back to a world that is about to disappear in Europe. As a non-Italian, I am now ready to visit the real Vermiglio and once there reflect on the effects of this wonderful film. It deserves to be seen by anyone who loves real cinema, who seeks to understand the human condition and, most importantly, does not give up on the aesthetic dimension of life in today’s world.
